The International Society of DAO Deficiency joins the DAO Institute

All activities of the International Society of DAO Deficiency have now been absorbed and incorporated into the International Institute of DAO Deficiency.

This integration reinforces our commitment to advancing research, education, and international collaboration in the study of DAO Deficiency and histamine-related disorders.

From now on, all institutional updates, scientific projects, and community initiatives will be shared directly through the DAO Institute’s communication channels.

DAO Institute Participates in a Scientific Conference in Cancún

On September 27, the DAO Institute took part in a scientific session in Cancún organized by Laboratorios Columbia, attended by over one hundred neurologists and rheumatologists. Director Adriana Duelo MSc RDN presented the global spectrum of DAO Deficiency symptoms and its clinical nutrition approach.

Study on Pregnancy and DAO Deficiency Published

A new study led by the University of Barcelona in collaboration with the DAO Institute has just been published in Journal of Clinical Medicine, titled:

“Improvement of Histamine Intolerance Symptoms in Pregnant Women with Diamine Oxidase Deficiency: An Exploratory Study.”

This research explores how DAO enzyme activity and histamine-related symptoms change throughout pregnancy, offering new insights into the connection between histamine metabolism and maternal health.

Today, July the 24, Prof. Dr. Marcus Zanetti (Hospital das Clínicas FMUSP, São Paulo) will host an exclusive session for DAO Institue Licensed members. During the webinar, Dr. Zanetti will discuss stress and anxiety from a diagnostic perspective, DAO activity and histaminergic transmission, lifestyle-based interventions, and the impact of histamine intolerance on mental health.
